A second monitor in your bag.
Tab Display lets you use an Android tablet as a portable monitor, external display, and remote video player for your MacBook, Mac, or Windows PC. Expand your desktop, keep chat or reference material on a separate screen, or watch videos stored on your computer from your tablet.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Extended Display
Create an additional virtual display on your Mac or Windows PC and use your Android tablet as a second monitor for documents, chat, reference material, and monitoring tools.
• Window Mirror
On supported macOS connections, send a specific app window instead of the entire desktop. Window Mirror is not available on Windows.
• Remote Video Player
Choose videos from a designated folder on your computer and play them remotely on your tablet. Remote Video Player is available over Wi-Fi/network and USB Tethering, but not through USB Direct Connection.
• Display Settings and Input
Choose portrait or landscape orientation, adjust the display resolution, and use touch or stylus input where supported by the connection method.
CONNECTION SUPPORT (ANDROID)
Mac + Android
• Wi-Fi / Network: Extended Display, Window Mirror, Remote Video Player
• USB Direct Connection: Extended Display and Window Mirror
• USB Tethering: Not supported
Windows + Android
• Wi-Fi / Network: Extended Display and Remote Video Player
• USB Tethering: Extended Display and Remote Video Player
• USB Direct Connection: Not available
CONNECTION METHODS
Wi-Fi / Network
Connect both devices to the same local network. In the desktop app, select the correct network interface, then enter the displayed connection code on the tablet.
USB Direct Connection for Mac + Android
Connect a Mac and Android tablet with a data-capable USB cable. No Wi-Fi pairing or connection code is required. Enable USB auto-connect if you want the app to reconnect when the cable is plugged in. This method requires Tab Display 0.0.44 or later on Mac and does not support Windows or Remote Video Player.
USB Tethering
On supported combinations, enable USB Tethering on the tablet, select the tethered network in the desktop app, and connect like a network connection. Wi-Fi-only tablets, some older devices, and incompatible cables may not support USB Tethering. Mac + Android uses USB Direct Connection instead.
